how can i improve my home studio?
ok so i just started this whole music thing. All i got is a decent mic which is the audio technica2020. Other than that i use mixcraft 4 to record. I know i have nothing not even an engineer or producer. What other things/gear can i get to improve the sound quality and make it sound more professional?? and also how can i get a producer or engineer because i want to take this music thing seriously. thanks in advance everyone! And please give me a break with my songs i have nothing lolz. The link below is my youtube channel

First you’ll want to invest in some outboard equipment, like compression, EQ, etc. You can look up the brands at Sam Ash.com but you’ll probably want to buy them at ebay or craigslist. Another thing you’ll want is a sampler, I use a Akai MPD24 because its pretty cheap, but an MPC model would be better. If you using a computer, you’ll want a USB interface, I recommend a E-MU 0404. As far as Microphones you should probably get a couple Shure SM57 which are cheap, but high quality and can be used for anything. And for another computer program, Fruity Loops is good, and one that I’m too poor to get is Ableton live.
